Ningbo city in east China's Zhejiang Province has hit another record in
its seawater aquaculture production by 192,000 tons during Jan.-Nov.,
accounting 104.7% of the planned figure for this year, and the fresh water
part 52,000 tons, accounting for 92.8%, respectively increasing by 20.3%
and 8.7% over that of the previous year when the aquaculture output value
there is higher than the fishing figure for the first time, according to
statistics from local ocean and aquaculture bureau.
With bilateral fishery agreements between China and Japan and South Korea
taking into force, Ningbo has started multiple-developments in local
aquaculture in marginal seas, shoals, live boxes, and paddy fields with
standardization and industrialization, when facing austerity in ocean
fishery.
Though slowing down, the seawater aquaculture acreage has increased by
50,000 mu to 644,000 mu over that of the previous year end, show
statistics.
However, the local ocean fishing retains gloomy with one accumulative
fishing amount proportion of 91.7% in the planned figure, dropping by 0.3%
over that of the previous year end.
